Ingredients:
3 lbs of lean ground beef
2 teaspoons each of the following spices:
white pepper, garlic powder, garlic salt, onion powder, onion salt, cayenne
pepper, paprika, oregano, MSG powdered chicken soup base
Sauce:
1 can of evaporated milk
1 1/2 cups of sugar
just less than 1/4 cup of vinegar
garlic powder to taste (1/4 teaspoon or so)
Pita bread
Diced onions
Diced tomatoes
Directions:
Combine all spices together then mix with meat.
Mold beef into a block (leaving room around the meat in pan for any fat
drippings) and cover the top with foil.
Bake for 2 hours at 350.
Remove foil and bake for an additional 1/2 hour
Mix can milk and sugar and beat well.
Add the vinegar very very slowly (drops) at a time while beating with a whisk
and add garlic powder to taste/ ( will taste a bit sweet like coleslaw dressing
and be thick)
Dip the pita bread in water and fry to warm. Once on a
plate add meat, diced onions, diced tomatoes, and sauce. Enjoy!
Notes:
I don't use the MSG and it doesn't change the taste of the
meat.
Can be messing eating but that is half the fun.
Can always use coleslaw dressing with garlic powder if the
sauce doesn't work for you but I never had a problem with it and makes a great
dipping sauce for garlic bread.
