Ranch Cornbread


Ingredients:

1 cup buttermilk
1 egg
1 cup yellow cornmeal
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
2 - 3 tablespoons cooking oil


Directions:

Combine buttermilk and egg.

Combine other ingredients in another bowl.

They can both set that way for a long time covered in frige.

Then, get some oil, drippings, (peanut oil works OK), Hot, Hot, in an iron skillet on top of stove.

Mix the wet and dry portions a bit and put in the hot skillet. Wait half a minute and put it in the pre-heated oven (400F) for 20 minutes.
